Wolverhampton Self Storage - Website Redesign
Wolverhampton Self Storage's website was a key part of sales and marketing of the company's website, generating a very healthy amount of successful sales leads every week. However, the world of web design moves quickly and, as it approached its second birthday, was in need of a refresh.
Having designed the original website, Pragmatic Design were pleased to have been commissioned to create the redesign.
We worked closely with WSS, listening to feedback from their clients about what worked; what was needed; and what the strengths were. We also undertook research of our own in order to fully understand the very-competitive self-storage market.
The redesign
WSS were keen to repurpose the site's content, and the content management system had recently been upgraded and was proving successful, so the decision was made to keep the existing backend rather replace the entire website.
The new website was designed to have a clean spacious feel, so much of the claustrophobic black, grey and yellow of the previous site was replaced with blue and white. Site efficiency has also been increased for faster loading times and responsiveness- something which Google now takes into account when generating PageRank.
Fun
Feedback from customers had shown that the "bouncing icons", "storage calculator" and "Paddy", the company's padlock-inspired mascot, gave the site a "fun" feel which Wolverhampton Self Storage were keen to retain. These items were modified to fit into the new design and optimsed for greater efficiency.
Overall
Wolverhampton Self Storage's redesigned website retains the best parts of the old one and adds a fresh, bright, clean and efficient design to create a site that stands out amongst it's peers.
